How to Use Feng Shui to Unlock Your Fertility JUJU

When it comes to working your fertility JUJU, there are many areas of life that need tending in order to successfully conceive. Since I am a holistic fertility educator, I know the importance of taking care of not just the physical side of fertility, but the emotional, mental, and spiritual side as well.

One area that often gets neglected when it comes to conception is the state of your home. Listen sis, your home is the space where you’re not only creating your baby, but where your child will eventually live and grow up. The energy of your home is such an important element of conception, as it serves as an energetic reflection upon you, your partner, and the family you hope to create.

One way you can start to clean up the spiritual energy in your home is by utilizing the ancient Chinese art of feng shui.

What is Feng Shui?

Feng shui utilizes the spatial arrangement of the objects in your home to remove energetic blocks and achieve a free flow of energy (or qi). Feng Shui does this by balancing the Yin (feminine) and Yang (masculine) energies to create a more peaceful environment. When your home environment is more balanced, it creates space for your manifestations to come through.

How Can Feng Shui Support Fertility?

Although Feng Shui is not a quick fix for fertility issues, using the principles of feng shui can help remove energetic blocks in your home that may be preventing you from becoming pregnant.

Think about it, when your home is clean and free of clutter, you are more likely to feel relaxed, creative, and in the flow of life. Being in a restful state encourages more self care practices that can help improve your mental and physical health, which is good for your fertility. Since your reproductive health is housed in the sacral chakra, it’s important to nurture feelings of creativity and sexual expression as well, and you cannot do that in a cluttered, negative space.

There are many feng shui practices out there related to fertility, but here are a few simple ways you can get started transforming your space to support your fertility.

Unblock Your Front Door

In Feng Shui, the front door is known as the “mouth of qi,” because it is where all energy enters your home. It is important to keep this space clean and clear, so that the energy entering your home can move freely.

Your front door represents the initial place where new manifestations are entering your home and life. Therefore it’s important to make sure there are no objects obstructing your front door, therefore obstructing your manifestations. (Learn more about how to use the practice of manifestation to boost fertility in this blog post.)

Keep your entryway tidy and free of clutter, removing overgrown plants, weeds, or cumbersome objects. If you have something blocking your front door that can’t be easily moved, like a tree or a parked car, hang some wind chimes to redirect the blocked energy away from your home.

Create Space for Your Baby

Your home is a reflection of you and your partner's energy, so it’s important to infuse your home with your intention of having a baby. Doing so will not only create more peace in your relationship, but can increase the connection you have with your spirit baby.

The first way to create space for your new baby is by reducing unnecessary clutter. In some feng shui practices, it’s even recommended that couples remove ⅓ of their belongings to make way for the third addition to their home, the new baby!

Although removing ⅓ of your belongings may not be practical for you, getting rid of things you’ll no longer use once the baby arrives can be a symbolic practice to manifest your pregnancy. Consider setting aside a room or space in your home for the new baby, and start filling it with things such as baby clothes, toys, and other items you’ll use one the baby arrives.

If you don’t already have a fertility altar, creating one in a special corner of your home can help direct your energy in the right direction. A fertility altar does not have to be overly complex or specific. It’s simply a special place where you go to connect with your spirit baby.

Some things to include in your fertility altar are:

  • A fertility doll (learn more about fertility dolls here)

  • A statue of your favorite fertility goddess

  • Inspiring photos or artwork that represent fertility

  • Fertility candles (learn more here)

  • Fertility crystals (learn more here)

  • Object for your baby such as clothes and toys

If your home doesn’t have the space for your baby or a fertility altar, then that could be one thing blocking your pregnancy. Take a look at how your current home is supporting your wishes to become pregnant, and if it isn’t, maybe it’s time to consider moving somewhere that does.

Focus On the Bedroom

In feng shui the bedroom serves 2 purposes: rest and intimacy. If you and your partner are trying to conceive, the bedroom should be a reflection of that.

In order to create peace and balance in the bedroom try these tips:

Remove electronics

Remove all electronics (TV, phones, and ipads) and other devices that do not serve the purpose of either rest or intimacy. It’s important to keep your phone out of the bedroom whenever possible. If you use your phone as an alarm clock, consider buying a battery powered one instead.

Reduce clutter

Similar to getting rid of electronics, keep your space as clean and organized as possible. Hang clothes that are on the floor, and keep the bed the focal point of the room. You want your bedroom to feel simple, clean, and peaceful.

Balance Yin and Yang

Balance male (yang) and female (yin) energy with a neutral design and color palette. Remove decor that is overly feminine or overly masculine. (This is true for same sex couples as well!) Colors that promote relationship harmony are: white, ivory, tan, brown, pink, and gold. Consider incorporating these colors in your bed sheets, rugs, curtains, and walls.

Add Fertility Symbols

In Feng Shui, there are many potent fertility symbols you can incorporate in your home. Here are a few examples:

  • The colors yellow and orange are associated with fertility in Feng Shui, so try incorporating them into your fertility altar or home decor

  • The elephant represents good luck, fortune, abundance, and fertility in Feng Shui. Place a pair of elephant statues in the bedroom to bring good luck into your relationship.

  • Pomegranates are considered good luck for fertility with the many seeds representing the amount of children a woman will conceive. The red color represents vibrancy and vitality. Add fresh pomegranate to your fertility altar when you wish to conceive, or add pomegranate artwork to your bedroom.

  • Hollow bamboo is believed to aid conception. Place a piece of hollow bamboo in the northern corner of your bedroom to enhance fertility.

Bringing elements of Feng Shui into your home is a great way to support your fertility. Feng Shui can help clear the clutter in your life, and remove energetic blocks in your relationship that are preventing pregnancy. If you feel called to learn more about how Feng Shui can help you, I recommend finding a practitioner in your area to work with.

When you learn how to energetically charge your home with your intentions, you create space for your manifestations to come through. One way to do this is by building a fertility altar. A fertility altar is a powerful way to connect with your spirit babies and represents the beautiful life you are attracting.
